Krystal was born an only child into a life of wealth and privilege. Raised primarily by hired staff, she has always had a complicated relationship with her parents. Her father was a confessed “workaholic” who unbeknownst to Krystal for most of her life, was a career criminal who showered Krystal with gifts. Her father provided for Krystal by paying off therapists, school administrators, coaches, and more to ensure she was always set up for success in life with little to no effort on her part. Her mother worked as a commercial model and despite Krystal's voiced interest in the theatre as a child, pushed her daughter into pageantry and modeling. Her mother would frequently remark that Krystal needed the pageant lifestyle to understand how to apply makeup and “fake being beautiful” as she didn't feel her daughter lived up to the family standard. Due to repeated incidents of infidelity on both sides, Krystal's parents separated when she was in High School.

She was expelled from a prestigious university during her first year when an assistant coach of the Volleyball team revealed to the media that Krystal's father had paid off the University several years prior to guarantee his daughter admittance under the guise of a sports scholarship. This event, along with her father being arrested and sentence to an extended prison stay for various crimes, led to Krystal pursuing a career as an influencer to help keep the K-Squad together and supported financially.

Krystal is extroverted, energetic, attention-seeking, and manipulative. She thrives in dramatic situations and will often insert herself into dangerous scenarios with people she dislikes to ensure that she is part of the action. Although she is deeply insecure and depressed at her core, she outwardly displays a personality of self-confidence and over exaggerated importance.

Krystal views most of the relationships in her life outside of the K-Squad as a means to an end. She struggles with loyalty, honesty, and trust. She is always “on” and will rarely let her influencer persona guard down around others.

Krystal has always had a shared love of fashion and style with her best friend Kimothy. She turned her hobby into a career by posting blogs online and social media to quickly gain a substantial following. Not satisfied with her mid-tier influencer status however, she decided to find a unique niche and began reviewing public restrooms - awarding the cleanest and most stylish a “Krystal Klear” rating which led to her becoming a viral success. The cost of keeping up with her wealthy image and supporting both Kimothy and Klay began to take its toll on her financially although she has never shared this publicly. Due to the generosity of her aunt Katherine, Krystal was able to afford a home and make a significant investment into buying a nightclub. As she attempts to generate her own wealth through honest means, the temptation of following in her father's footsteps has been weighing heavily on her mind.

• Kimothy Lee: Kimothy is Krystal's “ride or die” best friend and the most important person in her life. Having been together since they were kids, he is one of the few people who truly “knew” her before she took on her influencer persona. While she goes through periods of taking his loyalty and friendship for granted, she trusts him implicitly and does her best to ensure that he is always taken care of. He is the only person she truly trusts when asking for advice in any situation, be it fashion or her personal life.
• Klay Manfringensen: Krystal has complicated feelings toward Klay and is often physically aggressive toward him. This is due to both his intimate relationship with Krystal's mother and the fact that Krystal's father received extra jail time after his lawyers pressured Krystal to lie and blame a series of alleged crimes on Klay, which Krystal refused out of both pity and loyalty to him.
• Connor Kingston: Originally a target of Krystal's influencer persona, she harassed Detective Kingston, coining the name “Con Con” for him while “helping her image” by “dating” the entire Polar Police Department. After a series of traumatic events the pair experienced together, she allowed Kingston to meet the “real” Krystal, and eventually developed complicated feelings for him. She considers Connor to be her closest friend outside of the K-Squad and feels that he is the strongest “good” influence her in life.
• Benny Dahl: As a fellow social media influencer, Krystal originally saw Benny as a rival. At the suggestion of their mutual friend Connor Kingston, Krystal began to spend more time around Benny and after the discovery of Primo's “murder basement” at Bahama Mama's, the pair began to development a genuine friendship. Krystal respects Benny's style, attitude, and status in the city, which inspired her to hire Benny at the club.

• Fears: Krystal never learned how to swim and is fearful of drowning. Her only exposure to animals as a child was her fathers guard dogs on the property who were very aggressive, so she is fearful of animals though pretends to be disinterested/dismissive of them.
• Social Media Status: Krystal is the most followed person in Polar on the social media app Birdie.
